Maybe The Worst Week Ever

Monday. I came home from work and we had no hot water. This has happened before but that still doesn't make it ok. I had to take a shower, had to! So, I did everything I could think of to try to make a freezing shower somewhat pleasant. Well, my attempts were weak and didn't work. It was like bathing in an ice shower.
Tuesday. Woke up with a headache and sore throat. I went to work anyway but as the day went on everything got worse. My body started aching and that headache started putting on weight. After a while, I could barely stand. So, I left work early came straight home and went to bed.
Wednesday. I got up, got in the shower (water was fixed by now) and I still didn't have the energy to stand. So I didn't go into work all day. My throat was swollen and sore and very painful. My headache hurt so much it felt as if all my body's weight was in my brain and someone hit my head with an axe.
Thursday. My normal day off. Thankfully doing a little bit better but stayed home all day trying to recoop.
Friday. Feel good enough to go to work. My cold now is in the runny nose stage. So by the end of the night I'm just worn out. I go to bed and all night I keep rubbing my right eye. Not sure why but it just kept drying up getting crusty.
Saturday. I get up and my eye is all red. I take a shower and again there is no hot water. It wasn't completely gone but it was still very cold. Well, I had to go to work so I do and all the girls are telling me to go home and rest. I might have pink eye. Great. So I come home hating how much work I am missing and my eye just gets worse and worse. It spreads to my left eye and that gets worse and worse. So I go to an urgent care and get some drops.
Today. I am home writing all this out with two pink eyes, one which is still really swollen but hey they are getting a little better with the drops. I have to miss church and decide if I should miss work tomorrow too. Oh and I'm still very sick.

Doesn't that sound like the greatest week ever? My eyes should be all better within 7 days. So, hopefully my cold is gone by then too and I can get back to a normal life. It's amazing how much I can take my health for granted. One thing shuts down and its the end of the world.

My only celebrity crush

Jim Caviezel

That's right. He's my one and only. I might be picky but I only pick the best! I don't know why I am posting this other than I just feel like it! I've liked Jim Caviezel for a few years now. He's beautiful and real and I don't think he's popular enough for how great he is. At least from what I can tell. You might recognize him from such movies as; Frequency, The Passion of the Christ, and my favorite, The Count Of Monte Cristo. There have been many others but I'm not going to list them all. Anyway, Jim, you're my boy! I've heard he was considered to play Superman (cause he's perfect like that) and the fact that he played Jesus says it all. (perfect!) He's strong and firm, but soft and gentle. Good job Mel Gibson picking him! He's my favorite! Ain't he yummy?

Nouvelle Vague

Tuesday night John and I went to a concert. The night took a while getting started...a lot of waiting for the show to begin but it was awesome. We saw Nouvelle Vague, they are a french group who only do covers with a unique bossanova sound. Very cool! We were right next to the stage. We could reach out and touch them if we wanted. At one moment one of the women put her microphone up to John and let him sing part of a song. That was fun!! I must say, there is something very fascinating about the french. What else was cool was Kyle Korver (Utah Jazz) was there! Anyway, here is one of their better videos on you tube...

I got some terrible shots with my camera phone but here are a couple, I think they must have different women sing for them sometimes because they look different than those on you tube videos.

lonely + a little aggrivated = tangent!

So lately (lately meaning the past 2 years) I've noticed a big change in my social life since I became one of those married people. I'm not sure why people do this but they tend to forget about you when you're no longer single. I am not someone who has often been short of friends... until I chose to wed one. I am not trying to bash marriage here because its the best and smartest decision I've ever made. That is not why I am writing any of this. All I'm saying is I wish I still had my friends. Granted, most of them were guys so I understand why they never make the effort to stay in touch. However, I try! I do! I send out texts to old friends a lot but it never leads to more than, how have you been? I find its even more difficult making new friends being married. Partially because you have extra people to develop a liking for. (if you're husband can't stand them... how can you continue to have them over all the time? and vise verse? so unfair!) So what is it about being married that makes me a less interesting person?? or less fun?? I don't get this. I don't like this.

I'll admit I am guilty of not calling some of my married friends anymore.. it is harder when they live far away or have children. Oh crap, does this get worse after you have kids?? I'm doomed! Wait, is this why so many people have kids so quickly after getting married??

I love my husband and he gives me everything he can. But he cannot give me the response a girl friend can. Girls need time to be with girls. Its how we work. Sometimes I miss having roommates to come home to. I'm around women all day every day at work so you'd think I'd get my fill right? Nah, work is work. Its the times when you get off work and have no one to spend it with that make you wish you had people in your life that wanted your company.

So any suggestions?
Will joining facebook make me real friends??
Am I crazy? Does anyone else feel this way?
Anyone free next weekend??

The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

Christmas was great this year! I took a week off work for relaxation, vacation, and Christmas celebration! It's tradition on the Lewis side of the family to do what they call Grandpa Claus. They read and sing the Nativity and then follow up with presents for everyone! Usually something small and simple because there are so many of us! This year everyone got homemade hats, which were really cute!

Next, John and I traveled to Las Vegas to spend a few days of just us time for our 2 year anniversary. We stayed at a 4 star hotel south of the strip called, South Point. The highlight was their fabulous Spa where we enjoyed a private jacuzzi/steam/sauna room that also included endless amounts of fruits and water. We had great sweedish massages too! I'd love to do a spa every week if I could. John said after wards that this is why rich people are so happy!Besides the spa we saw the movie Avatar in 3-D, which we very much enjoyed! We also saw Surrogates, which we thought was ok. The last final thing to do on the list was eat a really nice buffet. So, with a great recommendation, we had dinner at the Mirage. It was indeed very satisfying! But after 2 fun days of alone time and relaxation, it was time to spend the joyous holiday with my family.

My brother, Aaron lives in Las Vegas along with his wife, Janet and their 4 boys Ben, Luke, Zack, and the newest member, Simon. Baby Simon is about 6 weeks old and really really cute! I'm so glad I finally got to meet him and hold him! My parents also came and so did my sister, Cody and her husband, Jake. I love hanging out with my family, we don't get to do it often enough! The time together always seems too short. Before you knew it we were back in Utah and back to work. We had some great times and here are some photos of our fun
