Kindergarten Graduation and a trip to Las Vegas

EZ's Kindergarten graduation was way cuter than I expected.  The kids looked so cute in their caps and gowns and their names on the sashes.  The kids sang a few songs and they had a projector that flashed different photos from the year.  It was so awesome!  We got EZ a big balloon and a candy bar.  The little boy next to him is his best friend, Gael.

Later that same day we took a drive to Las Vegas.  Both my brothers were getting together and I couldn't turn down family time.  You know I love it!  It's about a 6 hour drive for me and John couldn't come.  So, just me and the kids made the drive.  It actually wasn't too bad.  I love seeing my brothers together.  They are so similar and so different at the same time.  The next morning we took a hike, more like a stroll up to a waterfall.  Only problem was we couldn't find it!  We wandered around for a while and Bruce really started to get fussy.  He cried for at least half an hour and by the time we got back in the car, he fell right to sleep.  Figures.  The hike had started out fairly well though.  The weather was perfect!  Bruce just had to hold on to one, or both, of my brothers' hands.  Maybe he was missing his Dad... he didn't want me really, just a man!  Thankfully I have super awesome brothers who also have a lot of boys so they were perfectly fine taking him on!  We did find a good sized pond area on our way back.  All the kids were so relieved to be able to play in something!  Both my boys went in to their necks and I did not have spare clothes for them.  So, walking back in wet clothes was a learning experience.. they were so wiped out afterwards!  Bruce went to bed at 6:30 that night!

Awe cousins are the best!  So it was the end of May in Las Vegas and colder than you might think.  Too cold to swim.  But, that didn't stop EZ.  He got in but didn't last more than 10 minutes.  His lips were a light shade of purple when he came out and I sent him in to get a nice, warm bath.  He loves to swim, what a die hard!

EZ and Sawyer (6 months apart) really bonded for the first time on this trip.  Mostly over video games on the switch!  Oh I so wish they could hang out more and actually get to know each other!

My sister decided to come too, just a day later.  But it was over her birthday weekend so we had to celebrate!  I honestly could not decided which of these 3 pictures to share because nearly every face is different in each one!  Oh and again Bruce found himself a grown man and had to be next to him, this time his Uncle Jake.  They snuggled up a bit on the couch after that photo was taken.

Over too quickly.  Hard to say goodbye!  I love these people so much!!!  Only one cousin missing from those kids photos.  EZ was crying and didn't want to be in the picture.  I think he didn't want to leave and didn't know how to handle that big emotion.  Poor kid, I feel ya!

So we hit a snag just outside of Flagstaff on our way home.  Only about 2 hours from home and we were stopped dead in traffic for about 40 minutes, until I decided to take action.  A driver near by came and talked to me stating we were getting re-routed, so I made room for him then I followed after him, had to back track a bit, then go down some unknown, very deserted looking roads and areas then, finally over an hour later we got home.  My 6 hour drive was closer to 8 hours.  I was so annoyed!  We still made it home by 8 thankfully but an unknown 2 hour delay just plain sucks!  Thankfully the kids were good sports and just watched movies the whole time.  Thankfully my car had plenty of gas and I didn't have to stop anywhere sketchy.  Thankfully we left early enough that I didn't have to drive on unknown roads in the dark.  Overall it was a wonderful trip!  I hope we get to do it again soon!

Mother's Day and more

EZ's Kindergarten teacher was just the best.  She put together a special Mother's Day Fiesta from the kids to their moms.  They sing a bunch of cute songs and then do some cute dances.  They also got to hit a pinata and we ate yummy Mexican food.  It was a nice treat and sure made me tear up a bit.  Such cute kids!!

On Mother's Day, John got the kids all dressed up in matching attire for church.  It was pretty spiffy.  John always makes a bigger deal out of Mother's Day then I do, but I always love and appreciate it.  We did a special breakfast and dinner, he always gets me flowers, and takes the boys out shopping for some gifts for me.  I love that he always includes them!  He is setting a good example and that's a bonus gift for me!

Had to get myself a little treat too!  Actually Bruce picked it out because his favorite color is green at the moment.  Then here he is in my closet asking to play Trivial Pursuit...  so hard to explain to a 3 year old that certain games would just not be fun for him!

We got a new dog!  She's a mix of jack russell terrier, black mouth cur, and miniature pincher. She's about 4 months old and her name is Sadie.  She's a handful but we sure like her!  It's been a long time since either John or I had a puppy and we are learning fast that they can be a lot of hard work.  She has so much energy and she is so fast.  I nicknamed her "bullet" because of the way she takes off and zooms around.
This other picture is in front of the frozen yogurt place.  Cute little bench and the boys wanted a picture with it!

Warmer weather means park play!  They look so big!

I've shared before how Bruce loves his big brown blanket.  Well, he refused to go to his bed and next thing I find is him nearly buried under his blanket asleep on the floor.  He is very strong willed, what else can I say?

I can't believe the school year is almost over and summer is nearly here!  John supposedly starts his new job at the end of summer so we want to do some fun stuff before his work load changes.  To be continued... well a blog is always to be continued right?
